About this job
We’re building prod, not god. TypeSafe is an AI lab pushing frontier model intelligence in a new direction, starting with System One Models. We combine the reasoning of LLMs with the reliability of code, for truly trustworthy AI. Our first model, Jev, launched in September 2026.
While others chase leaderboards, we’re rebuilding the LLM stack from first principles to make models smarter and also dependable enough to run in production. We’re a small, fast team backed by an $870M Series A led by a16z. Made in SF, with love. Come join the frontier.
About the Role
We’re looking for our second product designer to shape how developers and enterprises discover, adopt, and build with TypeSafe.
You’ll own design workflows across our marketing website and developer console—from someone’s first introduction to TypeSafe through their first API call and their team’s adoption in production. You’ll combine strong visual craft with thoughtful interaction design, making complex technical capabilities clear, useful, and approachable.
Working closely with engineering, product, and go-to-market teams, you’ll take work from discovery through launch, and even ship UI changes in prod.
What you'll do:
Design enterprise features in the developer console. Help teams adopt and operate TypeSafe at scale through clear workflows for areas such as workspaces, team administration, permissions, usage, and billing.
Make technical workflows understandable. Design intuitive experiences across onboarding, the playground, and tools for building, testing, and operating with our models.
Build a coherent design system. Develop reusable components, patterns, and visual foundations across the website and console, with attention to accessibility and consistency.
We are looking for people who have:
3+ years of experience as a UX designer.
A portfolio showing strong visual and interaction design across web experiences and complex SaaS products.
Experience designing developer tools, such as IDE plugins, observability systems, and data tools.
Strong creative problem-solving skills and the ability to reason from first principles when designing solutions for complex technical systems.
Familiarity and passion for LLMs and AI tooling – you vibe code to prototype, leverage gen AI products, and try out new AI tools frequently.
Comfort reading code, debugging, and collaborating closely with engineers.
