About The Position

The Manager of Project Management is the central coordination point across West Alton's multi-party, fully reimbursable delivery model, managing interfaces between Ameren, the engineer of record, the constructor, the OEM, and grid stakeholders. The role supervises a team of co-workers to plan, organize, execute, control, support, audit, and report out on the West Alton combined cycle project, keeps scope boundaries clear, and surfaces interface risks before they hit cost or schedule. The role also deputizes for the Project Director on governance and decision cadence.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead a team to execute on the West Alton combined cycle project's delivery objectives through the application of and compliance with corporate and function project management processes and procedures.
  • Work with Project Engineers, Project Managers, Project Schedulers, Project Management support groups, and the rest of the project team, as well as counterparts at the engineer of record, the constructor, and the OEM, to deliver the project on schedule, in scope, and within budget.
  • Own the interface register and DOR / RACI across Ameren, the engineer of record, the constructor, the OEM, and MISO; define scope boundaries and hand-off points, and close open interfaces before they reach the critical path.
  • Deputize for the Project Director on day-to-day decisions and stakeholder management; set priorities and allocate resources across functions.
  • Ensure RFIs, submittals, and design changes move between parties at the cadence the PMO requires, and that decisions reach every affected function.
  • Capture interface-driven risks with the Risk Engineer, chair the interface meetings, and resolve conflicts between contractors and the owner's team.
  • Supervise, train, and guide team members in the day-to-day management of the West Alton project management team; the analysis of scope and design change requests and their interface impacts; the review of associated contracts and change orders; and the identification and control of risks to the project, including interface-driven risks.
  • Oversee the project management activities of team members in their analysis of progress and productivity, their cost monitoring, budget forecasting, and financial reporting, and their completion of service agreements and other related business requirements.
  • Monitor and enforce standards, policies, and procedures established by Ameren Corporation and regulatory entities.
  • Actively contribute to initiatives that help continuously improve the workgroup in areas such as budget compliance, project management procedures and activities, software applications, co-worker engagement, diversity and inclusion, and others that emerge in the organization.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in business-related field, engineering, construction management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university required.
  • Seven or more years of relevant experience in project management is required – relevant experience includes managing large-scale projects, serving as a project lead on large projects, or having contractor management experience in like capacities.
  • Interface or project management experience on multi-contract or fully reimbursable power or industrial projects with U.S. experience is preferred.
