Job Title:

Production Engineering & Resilience Director

Reporting To:

Senior Director of Architecture & Engineering

Work Schedule:

Onsite – Buffalo, NY

Moog’s Corporate IT Applications Development Team is looking for a Director of Production Engineering & Resilience!

As the Director of Product Engineering & Resilience, you will lead the unified organization responsible for the operational health, continuity, and continuous improvement of Moog's enterprise applications supporting commercial, sales & services, operations, finance and planning functions. This includes both current-state platforms in active use across business groups and the future-state Enterprise Resource Planning/Manufacturing Execution System (ERP/MES) environment being built through the active implementation program. Your goal is to ensure the current state never becomes an afterthought during transformation, while building the organizational capability to absorb and operate future-state platforms as they complete hypercare and transition to business-as-usual.

This role requires an onsite work schedule (five days in-office each week), at our Corporate Headquarters in East Aurora, NY.

To qualify for the Director of Production Engineering & Resilience role, here is what we would expect you to bring to Moog…

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, business or a related discipline.
  • Over eight (8) years of IT experience in application management, service and product ownership, with over three (3) years’ experience in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing organizations through transformation programs – not just awareness of transformation but operating through one.
  • Track record of building and managing vendor relationship with accountability; Service Level Agreement (SLA) enforcement, contract negotiation, and performance management with third party providers.
  • Direct experience owning IT budgets at the team or function level – planning forecasting and managing to financial targets.
  • Demonstrated ability to design org structures, define roles, and build teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Must live local to the Buffalo, NY area to work onsite, or willing to relocate. A hybrid/remote work schedule is not possible for this position.

Preference will be given to candidates who have:

  • Experience with ERP, MES, Machine Repair & Overhaul (MRO) platforms in a manufacturing environment.
  • A background in aerospace and defense manufacturing.
  • PMP, ITIL, or equivalent certification relevant to service delivery or product management.
  • Master’s degree, or MBA, with an operations or technology focus.

As the Director of Production Engineering & Resilience, you will…

  • Own operational health and continuity of current- and future-state ERP, MES, QMS, and sidecar applications, setting and enforcing service levels for BAU support, incident response, enhancements, upgrades, and patching across the portfolio.
  • Receive ERP/MES platforms from the program as they exit hypercare through formal, criteria-based handoffs absorbed pod-by-pod, and own the RACI, exit criteria, and escalation paths that define where the program ends and Product Engineering & Resilience begins.
  • Design and lead the unified organization, including team structure, roles, reporting lines, and the capacity model needed to absorb future ERP/MES handoffs.
  • Build and retain a high-performing team across Application Management, Product Owners, and Business Analysts, blending internal talent, program transitions, and third-party resources into one operating model, with a career framework that grows current-state expertise into future-state platform skills.
  • Own third-party managed services partners end to end. Define and enforce SLAs, KPIs, and escalation paths, run monthly operational and quarterly strategic governance reviews, and lead negotiations, scope expansions, and renewals with Procurement so the vendor model scales with growth.
  • Own the full budget (headcount, vendor contracts, licenses, tooling, and operational spend) and drive cost optimization by rationalizing contracts and services, consolidating tooling, and reducing overhead without compromising resilience.
  • Serve as the single accountable technology contact for operating groups across commercial, sales & services, operations, finance, and planning, and facilitate structured escalation when program timelines conflict with sustain obligations.
  • Manage portfolio risk and compliance. Maintain a current risk register covering platform, single-point-of-failure, vendor, and compliance risk. Eliminate single points of failure through runbooks, cross-training, and vendor coverage models. Ensure compliance with DCAA, ITAR, CMMC, and audit obligations, and proactively mitigate end-of-life risks.
