About this job
Zoox's BaseOps Fleet Support team keeps our autonomous fleet healthy, ready, and on the road. We are seeking a Program Manager to join the BaseOps Fleet Support Specialist Team and drive the changes, improvements, and processes behind fleet uptime. Working closely with Fleet Support leadership and the teams that carry out the work each day, you will turn our standards for fleet readiness, scheduling, and repair support into consistent practice at every Zoox site. You will own process change from design through implementation and adherence, and close the communication gaps between BaseOps, Logistics, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Fleet Operations.
You will also be the BaseOps lead for the systems our shops run on, including SAP, SAP Field Service Management (FSM), and Jira, making sure our processes are built into those systems and that every site uses them consistently.
Travel Requirement: ~35%
Shift: 1st Shift, Monday - Friday, 7am - 4pm
In this role, you will:
- Drive improvement priorities: Partner with Fleet Support leadership to set improvement priorities for the CoE, and work with Fleet Support Specialists, technicians, and site leads to deliver them across sites
- Own process change and implementation: Design, pilot, and roll out new and improved processes, with clear SOPs, training, and change management so changes stick at every site
- Drive adherence: Define standards and audits for scheduling, work order quality, parts, documentation, and system data, track compliance by site, and close gaps with site leads
- Ensure fleet readiness: Make sure daily robot health reviews, down-vehicle tracking, and return-to-service follow-ups happen consistently and lead to action
- Govern scheduling: Make sure repairs, reworks, planned maintenance, calibrations, and inspections are scheduled and dispatched only when parts, tools, documentation, approvals, and vehicle time are in place
- Lead systems readiness: Represent BaseOps on SAP and FSM from requirements and UAT through cutover, training, and adoption, and make sure our processes are reflected in the systems
- Close communication gaps: Set the cadence, channels, and escalation paths (Slack, Jira, recurring check-ins) that keep Logistics, Manufacturing, Engineering, Fleet Operations, and sites aligned on vehicle updates, configuration, and documentation
- Measure and report: Maintain dashboards for uptime, MTBF, MTTR, days down, labor time adherence, and process compliance, and report status, risks, and results to leadership
Qualifications
- BS or MS degree in engineering, operations management, or equivalent experience
- 8+ years of experience in program management, operations, or maintenance planning in a fleet, automotive, aerospace, or similar service environment
- Experience driving accountability and adoption across teams and sites without direct authority
- Proven track record of designing, implementing, and sustaining process change across multiple teams or sites
- Hands-on experience with SAP or a similar ERP or maintenance management system, including supporting a rollout through UAT and go-live
- Proficient in tools required to manage complex programs (i.e. Jira, Confluence, Slack, Gantt charts, Looker, etc.)
- Clear, concise communicator who can align technicians, engineers, and leaders around priorities and decisions
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience working in a center of excellence, PMO, or operational excellence function
- SAP FSM or other field service management experience
- Program management or Lean Six Sigma certification
- Experience with autonomous vehicles, robotics, or vehicle manufacturing
