About this job
Do you want to shape the quality of a product that connects customers to the internet across the globe? Amazon's Leo ecommerce team is looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer II to own the frontend quality of the Leo website — the destination where customers discover, purchase, and manage their internet service. In this role, you will build test strategies and Playwright automation for a product that is actively expanding into new countries, giving you the chance to define scalable testing practices from the ground up. You will work closely with product managers, UX designers, and software developers to catch issues early, surface missed use cases during grooming, and raise the quality bar so that every feature meets customer expectations before it ever reaches production.
Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Key job responsibilities
- Own end-to-end testing of the Leo ecommerce frontend experience, creating and executing test plans that cover functional, integration, and regression scenarios across multiple country launches.
- Build and maintain automated test suites in Playwright, evaluate coverage ROI, and define strategies for when and what to automate — partnering with the development team to expand automation over time.
- Participate in product grooming sessions alongside product managers and UX designers, providing the QA perspective to identify edge cases, clarify acceptance criteria, and flag risks before development begins.
- Triage and prioritize bugs, perform root cause analysis, and drive defect resolution to reduce the number of issues that reach production.
- Own testing runbooks and QA documentation for the team, ensuring processes are repeatable and scalable as the product grows into new markets.
A day in the life
You will start many mornings reviewing incoming bug tickets and prioritizing what needs attention, then shift into proactive work — writing test plans for upcoming features or extending Playwright automation. Expect to spend a good portion of your week in collaborative sessions with UX designers, developers, and product managers during grooming and sprint ceremonies, where your input directly shapes what gets built and how. Between those sessions, you will have heads-down time to execute tests, refine runbooks, and analyze quality metrics. This is an independent, self-directed role where you decide where your attention has the most impact.
About the team
The Leo ecommerce team builds and operates the website where customers learn about, purchase, and manage their Amazon internet service. As Leo expands into new countries, the team is investing in scalable processes and automation to keep pace with growth. You will join a collaborative group of developers, product managers, and UX designers who value clear communication and a shared commitment to getting the details right. This is a great opportunity to build expertise in commerce at scale, international expansion, and modern test automation in the age of AI.
