The Opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven Sales Manager to accelerate the growth of the CoinDesk Data business. In this role, you will lead commercial efforts within the Americas, managing the entire sales lifecycle—from prospecting to closing—with prestigious institutional clients, including asset managers, hedge funds, crypto native firms, and top-tier financial institutions. The ideal candidate possesses deep knowledge of the digital asset ecosystem, an extensive network within financial services, and a proven track record of selling complex data feeds and API solutions.

What You’ll Do

  • Territory Expansion: Drive net new business expansion by serving as the Data sales lead for your assigned regional coverage area, forging and nurturing complex relationships with institutional clients.

  • Full-Funnel Sales Management: Proactively identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities, effectively managing a robust sales pipeline within your designated region to meet and exceed revenue targets.

  • Product Consultative Selling: Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of CoinDesk’s offerings, including BMR-compliant benchmarks, custom index solutions, and multi-asset real-time and historical APIs. Tailor these products to meet the complex infrastructure needs of institutional clients.

  • Client Relationship Retention: Act as the primary regional liaison for clients, ensuring long-term partnership retention, high customer satisfaction, and maximizing client ROI.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with global sales, product development, research, and trading teams to ensure seamless service delivery and align regional market feedback with the product roadmap.

  • Compliance & Marketing Alignment: Coordinate with marketing and legal/compliance teams to develop localized promotional materials while ensuring strict adherence to strict regulatory environments.

  • Pipeline Hygiene: Maintain absolute data integrity for all sales activities, forecasts, and metrics utilizing Salesforce.

What You Have:

  • 5+ years of institutional sales experience within fintech, market data, global finance, or the digital asset sector.

  • Deep understanding of the cryptocurrency ecosystem, market infrastructure, on-chain metrics, and benchmark regulations (such as BMR/IOSCO principles).

  • A well-developed, active network of institutional C-suite and decision-maker connections within your assigned regional coverage area.

  • Proven ability to source, negotiate, and close complex institutional data or index licensing deals independently.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex quantitative and technological concepts for institutional buyers.

  • Proficient in AI, Salesforce, Excel, PowerPoint, and modern team collaboration tools (Slack, G-Suite).

  • Ability to travel as necessary for client meetings and major industry conferences within the region.
