A Little Bit About Our Team

The Corporate Finance Department at WMG oversees the Company’s financial operations in partnership with WMG’s labels, business units and corporate functions. The team is responsible for financial planning and analysis, budgeting and forecasting, management reporting, accounting oversight and financial compliance across the Company.

Your Role

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Corporate Finance, the Senior Analyst will play a hands-on role in the management of centrally managed Corporate functions and Recorded Music functional areas.

You will take ownership of key day-to-day budgeting, forecasting, reporting and accounting activities for Corporate functions. Acting as a key finance partner, you will help department leaders understand their financial performance, lead their budgets and make informed business decisions.

This is a hands-on role offering broad exposure to the financial operation of a global music company, regular interaction with finance and non-finance stakeholders, and the opportunity to develop within a collaborative, high-performing team.

Here You'll Get To:.

  • Own key monthly close activities for Corporate functions, including preparing accruals, reclasses and intercompany journal entries.

  • Work closely with the Shared Service Center and other Finance teams to ensure costs are accurately recorded in the general ledger and align with Company policies.

  • Prepare comprehensive month-end reporting packages and monthly forecast materials, including analysis of material spend and variances against budget, forecast and prior year.

  • Partner with Corporate function leaders and budget owners to understand financial performance, identify risks and opportunities, and maintain accurate forecasts.

  • Support the annual budget, monthly forecasting and long-range planning processes, including the development and maintenance of supporting financial models.

  • Compile and analyze Corporate spend information used in senior-management, Board and external reporting materials.

  • Provide financial oversight of operational activities, including invoice coding and submissions, vendor setup, purchase order tracking, commitments and project cash-outflows.

  • Maintain strong follow-up on outstanding items, results and forecast assumptions across multiple collaborators.

  • Continuously find opportunities to automate processes, improve financial controls and streamline recurring reporting.

  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis and support other critical initiatives as requested by senior management.

About You:

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance,  Business, or a related field.

  • You have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in FP&A, Corporate Finance, Accounting, Controllership, or a related financial rigor.

  • You have experience working with complex financial models, large data sets and multiple business or functional stakeholders.

  • You possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and can translate complex financial information into clear business insights.

  • You can work independently, take ownership of assignments and collaborate effectively as part of a broader team.

  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present and explain financial information clearly to non-finance leaders and global stakeholders.

  • You can manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

  • You demonstrate strong attention to detail, accountability and follow-through on open items and assignments.

We’d Love It If You Also Had:

  • CPA certification, another relevant professional qualification or prior Big 4 accounting experience.

  • Experience supporting global budgets or multiple Corporate functions.

  • Exposure to intercompany accounting and multinational financial processes.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong knowledge of PowerPoint, Word, and Google Drive.

  • Experience with SAP, Hyperion, or another large ERP and financial-planning systems.

  • Curiosity, sound business judgement and a strong desire to learn and grow.
