About this job

EnergyHub empowers utilities and their customers to create a clean, distributed energy future. Our customers are real utilities managing the real electrical grid supporting the normal lives of millions of real people. Our mission is to keep the grid running reliably while enabling more renewable energy and reducing reliance on fossil fuel.

Senior Client Success Manager

EnergyHub’s Client Success team launches and operates best-in-class programs for utilities, helping them address grid challenges by engaging customers with connected devices. As a Senior Client Success Manager, you will own a portfolio of complex, high-impact client relationships end-to-end. You will lead program launches, drive long-term account health and growth, and serve as a strategic partner to clients and to our sales, product, engineering, and marketing teams.

This is a highly visible, senior client-facing role for someone who has a track record of managing strategic accounts, thrives on solving complex and ambiguous challenges, and is curious about the energy distribution systems that power our daily lives. The successful candidate brings seasoned judgment, communicates data-driven insights confidently to audiences up to the executive level, builds deep and lasting relationships, and consistently delivers results. They also help raise the bar for the Client Success team as a whole.

What you’ll do

Own and grow strategic client relationships: Manage a portfolio of multi-faceted programs involving device partners, clients, and internal teams. Build relationships at multiple levels of client organizations, including senior and executive stakeholders, and keep client goals at the center of how the organization operates.

Be a strategic advisor who drives client outcomes: Understand each client’s objectives, regulatory context, and growth targets, and guide them through key decisions in program design and evolution. Balance internal objectives with client goals using sound business judgment. Partner closely with Sales to lead renewal and expansion strategy for your accounts, identifying growth opportunities and risks early.

Lead through complexity: Take ownership of escalations and difficult client situations, resolving operational challenges with creativity and composure. Anticipate risks and dependencies across programs and put mitigation plans in place before issues surface.

Be an effective communicator and storyteller: Analyze and present program performance, lead executive business reviews, facilitate meetings, and deliver nuanced technical and data-driven messages tailored to the audience. Maintain consistent, proactive communication with clients, device partners, and internal stakeholders to keep programs on track and deliver timely recommendations.

Be a product, service, and industry expert: Develop deep knowledge of demand management, Distributed Energy Resources, and the drivers of program success. Use that expertise to shape program design, influence the product roadmap by bringing client insights back to Product and Engineering, and train client program teams.

Elevate the team: Mentor and support other Client Success Managers, share best practices, and contribute to improving Client Success processes, playbooks, and tools.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5–7+ years of professional experience in customer success, account management, or technology services, with a strong preference for experience in a SaaS or enterprise software environment
  • A proven track record of owning and growing strategic or enterprise-level client accounts, including renewals and expansions
  • Experience working in or with renewable energy, utilities, grid services, or adjacent industries (cleantech/greentech) preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain complex and technical topics in an engaging and succinct way to stakeholders at all levels, including executives
  • Strong program or project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple high-priority initiatives, hit deadlines, and think through risk and dependencies
  • An analytical yet creative and curious mind, with a confident approach to numbers, data, and spreadsheets
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate escalations and difficult conversations while preserving trust
  • Strong business judgment and the ability to operate independently with minimal oversight
  • Experience collaborating with and influencing cross-functional teams
  • Experience mentoring or coaching peers is a plus
  • A BS or BA degree

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with EVs, batteries, connected devices, IoT, or building automation
  • Familiarity with Virtual Power Plant (VPP) programs and initiatives
  • Certifications in energy management, project management, or program management
