About this job

At Snowflake, we are powering the era of the agentic enterprise. To usher in this new era, we seek AI-native thinkers across every function who are energized by the opportunity to reinvent how they work. You don’t just use tools; you possess an innate curiosity, treating AI as a high-trust collaborator that is core to how you solve problems and accelerate your impact. We look for low-ego individuals who thrive in dynamic and fast-moving environments and move with an experimental mindset — who rapidly test emerging capabilities to discover simpler, more powerful ways to deliver results. At Snowflake, your role isn't just to execute a function, but to help redefine the future of how work gets done.

Observe by Snowflake is an AI-powered observability platform built natively on the Snowflake AI Data Cloud. Its Telemetry Lakehouse Foundation enables organizations to ingest, retain, and analyze massive volumes of telemetry more economically than traditional observability platforms while keeping data reusable across analytics and AI through open table formats such as Apache Iceberg. Its Observability Context Graph captures relationships across services, infrastructure, logs, metrics, and traces, providing the semantic context needed to reason about complex systems. A programmable AI SRE automates investigation workflows to reduce manual effort and accelerate incident resolution.

Trusted by engineering teams at organizations including Capital One, HPE, and Breeze Airways, Observe ingests and analyzes hundreds of terabytes of telemetry daily while maintaining enterprise-scale reliability. Observe joined Snowflake through its acquisition in February 2026.

The Infrastructure team at Observe by Snowflake is responsible for architecting, scaling, and operating the development and production environments that power our observability platform. We are a small, highly collaborative team with broad scope and high ownership, focused on delivering reliable, secure, and scalable infrastructure while continuously evolving the systems that support our engineers and customers.

As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping our infrastructure strategy, driving architectural decisions, and elevating operational excellence across the organization. Examples of the work you'd take on include launching single-tenant and multi-tenant environments for new customers on tight timelines, migrating our Kubernetes ingress from Ingress-NGINX to Envoy and the Gateway API, shifting our release process from script-driven lockstep weekly deploys to GitOps with ArgoCD, and building repeatable processes for infrastructure upgrades, refreshes, and migrations across the fleet.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the design, build, and operation of scalable, secure AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure across shared and dedicated customer environments, supporting a high-scale observability platform.

  • Help integrate Observe's infrastructure into Snowflake's platforms, including CI, source control, and container platform migrations, bridging startup-era systems with enterprise-grade standards.

  • Own and evolve CI/CD pipelines, developer tooling, and platform automation, moving our delivery pipeline toward GitOps and independent, safe service deployments.

  • Partner with the Security team to improve access controls, secrets management, and the security posture of production environments, enabling other teams (including AI and automation initiatives) to move fast without compromising security or maintainability.

  • Design and implement infrastructure patterns that ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and operational resilience.

  • Participate in the infrastructure on-call rotation and play a key role in incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident improvements that drive systemic reliability enhancements.

  • Partner cross-functionally with Product and Engineering teams to ensure infrastructure strategy supports long-term platform evolution.

  • Take ownership of ambiguous projects from scoping through delivery, and help onboard and mentor newer engineers on a growing team through design and code reviews.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in Infrastructure Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), DevOps, or related roles.

  • Demonstrated experience designing and operating production systems at scale, with deep ownership of reliability and operational excellence.

  • Strong experience with Kubernetes, including architectural decision-making and operational tuning.

  • Hands-on experience managing cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform or similar) and GitOps tooling (ArgoCD or similar), with a focus on scalable system design.

  • Experience with least-privilege IAM, secrets management, and securing production access.

  • Strong programming skills in Go, Python, or similar languages, with a track record of building automation and infrastructure systems.

  • Experience driving cross-team technical initiatives and influencing infrastructure best practices.

  • Ability to balance immediate operational demands with long-term architectural vision.

  • Comfortable saying no or "not yet" with a clear rationale, and prioritizing ruthlessly when inbound demand exceeds capacity.

  • Track record of thoughtfully applying AI tooling to infrastructure automation while keeping production changes safe and reviewable.

Nice to Have

  • Experience leading large migrations (CI systems, version control, deployment platforms).

  • Experience with post-acquisition or platform-consolidation work.

  • Familiarity with observability platforms, telemetry pipelines, or monitoring infrastructure.

  • Experience building or evolving internal developer platforms.

  • Experience working in high-growth, rapidly evolving engineering environments.
