About this job

Join the team transforming how health care is delivered by pairing innovative technology and connected devices with a top-notch care team. As Senior Manager, Physical Therapy, you will lead multiple Physical Therapy teams and ensure high-quality, technology-enabled care is delivered at scale.

You will translate department strategy and OKRs into clear execution plans, allocate resources across your teams, and scale operating practices that improve access, capacity, quality, clinical outcomes, employee experience, and cost. You will lead through 5–7 PT Managers, coaching them to improve performance and velocity while holding them accountable for team results, talent, execution, and responsible use of resources.

This role owns execution of the PT operating model within its remit, including workforce and capacity planning, performance management, clinical operations processes, and escalation paths. You will partner with leaders across Clinical Operations, including health coaching, dietitians, medical specialists, and care coordination, as well as adjacent cross-functional teams (Product, Commercial, Quality, L&D, etc.) to deliver programs, manage dependencies, and drive process change and continual improvement.

What You’ll Accomplish

In your first 3 months

  • Build trusted relationships with your team of and PTs, peer leaders, and cross-functional partners; understand team health, operating rhythms, goals, and key risks.

  • Establish a clear view of performance across your teams, including access, capacity, service levels, utilization, quality, clinical outcomes, member satisfaction, employee experience, compliance, and cost.

  • Align your teams to the PT operating plan, near-term priorities, escalation paths, and decision rights.

  • Identify the highest-leverage opportunities to improve execution, manager effectiveness, and consistency across teams.

In your first 6 months

  • Translate department-level OKRs into executional plans, and make thoughtful resource allocation decisions across teams.

  • Establish consistent management systems for capacity planning, performance management, quality controls, clinical operations processes, and risk escalation.

  • Coach PT Managers to address performance gaps early, develop their teams, and deliver predictable results against agreed metrics.

  • Lead or contribute to cross-functional programs, proactively managing dependencies, stakeholder expectations, risks, and blockers.

In your first year

  • Build a strong, layered leadership team by hiring, coaching, and developing leaders; create a ready bench and act decisively when performance gaps persist.

  • Scale effective practices across the PT organization and improve the reliability, efficiency, and quality of the operating model.

  • Lead change within the PT organization and across Clinical Operations, including technology and AI adoption, while supporting teams through transitions and maintaining performance and engagement.

  • Influence leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to drive process improvements and make sound tradeoffs across quality, outcomes, employee experience, and cost.

  • Sustain a culture of accountability, learning, and high performance, including consistently strong management and engagement scores.

Who You Are

  • A healthcare operations leader who has managed leaders and has led multiple teams or program areas in a fast-moving clinical environment.

  • A strategic translator who turns department strategy into practical plans, clear priorities, measurable outcomes, and consistent execution.

  • A system builder who can identify what works on one team and scale it through repeatable operating mechanisms, including capacity planning, performance management, quality controls, and escalation paths.

  • A talent developer who changes the trajectory of leaders and individual contributors through thoughtful coaching, delegation, feedback, and stretch opportunities.

  • An effective communicator who is clear, concise, and quick to respond—and who uses written updates and simple visuals to support decisions and alignment.

  • A learn-it-all who seeks diverse perspectives, challenges assumptions, and continuously improves the way work gets done.

  • A leader who demonstrates hustle and accountability by resolving dependencies, stewarding resources responsibly, meeting commitments, and addressing risks early.

  • A hands-on leader who can operate at two altitudes: offering practical guidance when teams need it while giving capable managers the autonomy to lead.

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in healthcare management, care delivery operations, or a related healthcare operating environment, including experience managing managers.

  • Experience setting operational objectives and work plans, managing resources and labor costs, and using performance metrics to improve quality, outcomes, service, or employee experience.

  • Experience partnering across multiple clinical disciplines and functions, influencing other senior stakeholders without relying on direct authority.

  • Experience leading complex organizational change, including adoption of new technology, AI-enabled workflows, or operating processes within a clinical workforce.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading a large (50+ clinicians), distributed, or remote clinical workforce.

  • Experience in start-up, digital health, virtual care, or a technology-enabled care model.

  • Licensed physical therapist or other relevant clinical licensure.

  • Master’s Degree in Business and/or Healthcare or related fields
