Join athenahealth as a Senior Software Engineer on the athenaCollector Rules team, where you will help build the software that powers critical revenue cycle management capabilities for healthcare providers. • Support deployment and operation of containerized services on AWS, including ECS, EKS, EC2, Docker, and Kubernetes.

  • Partner with platform and SRE teams to strengthen reliability, observability, and operational readiness.

  • Apply infrastructure-as-code and DevOps automation practices; Terraform experience is a plus.

  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers in design discussions, code reviews, and delivery planning.

  • Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement durable fixes that reduce operational risk.

  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team learning, technical discussions, and engineering best practices.

  • Contribute to architectural conversations and help shape technical direction for the product area.

  • Produce technical documentation, runbooks, and API documentation for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Support performance tuning, scalability testing, and continuous improvement of software quality.

  • Explore and apply AI capabilities in engineering workflows and product features, that improve productivity and client outcomes.

  • Support deployment and integration activities as needed.

  • Participate in on-call rotation and incident response support as needed.

Expected Education & Experience
