About this job
About Code Metal
Code Metal is the leader in automated software engineering you can trust. As AI writes more of the world's code, the bottleneck in software has shifted from writing code to verifying it works, and AI cannot verify its own work with certainty. Code Metal takes a fundamentally different approach: constrain AI to what it does reliably, verify every step independently of the model using formal methods, and keep engineers in the loop on the decisions that matter. The result isn't code that probably works — it's code that is provably correct, with auditable proof. Customers including the U.S. Air Force, L3Harris, RTX, and Toshiba use Code Metal to modernize legacy code, optimize performance on real hardware, and move prototypes to production, fast. Founded in 2023 with offices in Boston and San Francisco, Code Metal is funded by Accel, Salesforce Ventures, B Capital, Smith Point Capital, J2 Ventures, Shield Capital, Overmatch, RTX, and others.

About the Role
Code Metal is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to lead complex initiatives across a growing engineering organization. In this role, you will partner with Product, Engineering, Research, and Solutions to advance Code Metal’s AI-powered code translation and verification platform.
You will work closely with technical and product leaders to translate strategic priorities into coordinated engineering programs, guide initiatives through the development lifecycle, and support successful end-to-end delivery. This role calls for technical fluency and the ability to navigate complex dependencies and tradeoffs while balancing near-term execution with long-term product and platform goals.
As the organization grows, you will also have the opportunity to shape how engineering programs are planned, executed, and scaled, helping build the foundation for continued innovation and product growth.
Core Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end execution of complex technical programs spanning research, engineering, infrastructure, and product development.
Partner with Product and Engineering leaders to define program objectives, milestones, success criteria, and delivery expectations.
Develop and manage integrated execution plans, proactively addressing dependencies, risks, and shifting priorities.
Collaborate with engineering teams to understand technical requirements and tradeoffs, and help drive timely decisions across workstreams.
Define and track program metrics in partnership with teams, measuring progress, product quality, and technical readiness to inform decisions and improvements.
Identify recurring challenges and opportunities to build shared capabilities that strengthen the overall product and platform.
Communicate program progress, risks, and key decisions clearly to technical and business stakeholders.
Establish and refine program management practices that improve planning, coordination, accountability, and delivery predictability.
Required Qualifications
7+ years of experience in Technical Program Management, leading complex, cross-functional software development programs.
Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, system architecture, and engineering practices.
Experience supporting end-to-end product development, from proof of concept through production.
Proven experience leading cross-functional programs and managing dependencies, risks, and delivery commitments.
Ability to navigate ambiguity, manage competing priorities, and drive progress in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-informed approach to decision-making.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively across teams and leadership.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in AI/ML, developer tools, code transformation, or software platform technologies.
Experience working on research-driven product development and translating emerging technologies into commercial products.
Experience in a startup or high-growth technology company, contributing to the development and scaling of engineering execution practices.
