Business Description:

Blackstone Technology & Innovations (BXTI) is the technology team at the core of each of Blackstone’s businesses and new growth initiatives. Serving both internal and external clients, we work to build the next generation of systems that manage risk, create efficiency, and improve transparency within the firm and across our broad community of investors and portfolio companies.

BXTI is and entrepreneurial – our open, iterative design processes and rapid pace of development means that everyone on the team has the opportunity to make an impact from day one. We are problem solvers who can take projects from idea to implementation. We believe in active mentoring and developing excellence. We collaborate to find the best answers for our customers and for Blackstone. We are critical to the firm maintaining its competitive edge.

Role:

We're looking for a senior, hands-on engineer to help build and scale the platforms that power finance and fund operations across Blackstone. You'll design, build and support key parts of our enterprise finance systems. These include process automation, calculation engines, data pipelines, and integrations with the firm's upstream and downstream systems.

You'll work closely with Finance and Operations teams across the firm, including Real Estate and Private Equity. Your work will turn manual and legacy processes into scalable, code-driven solutions.

Success means delivering reliable, well-built solutions that measurably reduce manual effort and speed up finance and reporting cycles.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build and maintain parts of the finance oversight, calculation and process automation platforms that support operations and finance teams across the firm.
  • Write high-quality production code in Python and SQL, and build cloud-based services, APIs and data pipelines.
  • Contribute to architecture discussions and design reviews, and lead the technical design for the features and components you own.
  • Work with Finance and Operations stakeholders to understand business processes and turn requirements into technical solutions.
  • Move legacy processes and tools onto modern, code-based platforms.
  • Follow and help improve engineering standards for code quality, CI/CD, automated testing and observability.
  • Support production systems, including monitoring, troubleshooting, incident resolution and performance tuning.
  • Build controls, audit and security requirements into your solutions, working with Information Security and Risk.
  • Mentor junior engineers, take part in code reviews, and communicate clearly with offshore and affiliate teams.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, with recent hands-on development in Python and SQL.
  • Experience building and supporting production applications or data platforms, ideally in financial services.
  • Solid understanding of APIs, data pipelines, relational databases and cloud-based development.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD, version control and automated testing.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and experience breaking complex business logic down into clean, maintainable code.
  • Clear communication and experience working directly with business stakeholders and distributed teams.
  • Experience applying AI or LLM-based tools to automate business processes.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
  • Real estate or private equity experience, including performance calculations, deal lifecycle, forecasting and investor reporting preferred.
  • Experience with finance, accounting or fund operations systems, such as general ledger integrations or financial reporting preferred.
  • Exposure to workflow orchestration, infrastructure as code or distributed systems preferred.
