Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Engineering team at ServiceNow. In this role, you will help build and evolve scalable web applications and platform capabilities that deliver intuitive, high-quality user experiences. You will collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to solve complex problems and deliver reliable, extensible software using modern web technologies and cloud-based architectures.

- Work in a Scrum-based Agile development environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to plan, prioritize, and deliver high-quality software through iterative development.

Job Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, and software design patterns.
- 3+ years of experience developing web applications using JavaScript and modern frameworks or libraries such as React or Node.js.
- Strong proficiency in Java and experience developing Java-based applications; experience with other object-oriented programming languages may also be considered.
- 3+ years of experience developing web-based or cloud-based applications.
- Proficiency in web technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, and web services or APIs; familiarity with ES6+, Angular, or GraphQL is a plus.
- Experience with unit testing, integration testing, automated testing, and continuous integration practices.
- Familiarity with relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, or Microsoft SQL Server.
- Experience working in an Agile software development environment, with strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to learn new technologies quickly and evaluate appropriate solutions.
- Experience using AI-powered tools or identifying opportunities to apply AI to engineering workflows and problem-solving.
- Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments, shell scripting, or functional programming concepts is a plus.
- Experience building reusable frameworks, shared platform capabilities, or component-based architectures is a plus.
- A bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
For positions in this location, we offer a base pay of $143,200 - $243,400, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs. Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located and is subject to change based on work location.
