About this job
Amazon is seeking a high-performing, strategic, and self-motivated communications professional to join the team as a Communications & Media Lead for Amazon Fashion. This individual is responsible for developing and executing the communications strategy for strategic partnerships, ensuring every public-facing moment is strategically timed, messaged, and aligned. In this role, you will leverage strong media relationships to build a narrative that elevates Amazon Fashion into consumer and cultural conversation, and translate complex priorities into clear, compelling messages. You will work closely with external partners, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to navigate media moments and dive deep into the details of both proactive and reactive press needs. Solid written, verbal, and organizational skills are required, as well as the ability to collaborate and be an effective team player in a fast-paced environment.
Key job responsibilities
- Develop and execute the communications strategy for fashion partnerships, including announcement timing, creative activations, and ongoing media moments
- Serve as the primary comms point of contact for external partners, ensuring alignment on press plans, outlet selection, and messaging
- Partner with the business team to ensure the comms narrative ladders back to the creative vision and that media-facing moments are consistent with objectives
- Own media strategy and outreach: identify priority outlets, secure exclusives, manage embargoes, and oversee broad press distribution
- Draft and manage all comms materials for proactive and reactive media engagement — press messaging, talking points, Q&A documents, briefing books, and executive prep
- Prepare and brief Amazon executives and external partners ahead of press interviews, ensuring both are aligned on key messages
- Collaborate with the Creators and social team on Amazon-owned, social-first content opportunities
- Monitor press coverage and cultural conversation, flagging risks, opportunities, and sentiment shifts
- Staff Amazon and partner executives at key moments — events, press interviews, and public appearances — providing real-time support and ensuring messaging discipline
- Escalate reputational risks, sensitive press situations, or misalignment between Amazon and external partners
Basic Qualifications
- 7+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience
- Bachelor's degree
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience dealing with high profile talent
- Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
- Experience in media relations and issues management
- Experience in the entertainment industry
- Experience working proactively and independently, meeting deadlines, and delivering on projects and tasks
- Experience handling ambiguous or undefined challenges through strong problem solving abilities
- Experience managing or working within cross-functional marketing and creative teams
- Extremely detail oriented with ability to multitask
