About FL114
FL114 is an innovative, privately held biotechnology company developing our novel epigenetic editing platform to treat a variety of diseases through precise, tunable modification of gene expression. FL114 was founded by Flagship Pioneering, where companies such as Moderna Therapeutics (NASDAQ: MRNA) and Seres Therapeutics (NASDAQ: MCRB) were conceived and created. With a strong emphasis on innovation and experimental execution, FL114 cultivates a highly dynamic and entrepreneurial environment.
About the Role:
FL114, Inc. is seeking an outstanding Scientist to join our Genomics team. We’re looking for a skilled, NGS-focused molecular biologist to contribute to the development and advancement of our epigenetic editing programs, from early discovery research to preclinical development and beyond. The successful candidate will be an essential member of a close-knit team of experimental and computational scientists. We are looking for enthusiastic, detail oriented, adaptive, and highly motivated individuals with a passion for bringing novel medicines to patients. Applicants should be comfortable working on a fast-paced, cross-functional scientific team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute NGS-based functional genomics assays in a high-throughput production environment that address core R&D needs in cell state mapping and therapeutic molecular validation
- Own the development and optimization of fit-for-purpose NGS solutions and molecular/cellular assay technologies
- Contribute directly at the bench in a small team, with a focus on technical depth
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- PhD. in Molecular Biology, Genomics, or related field (or BS/MS with 7+ years of relevant NGS experience)
- Direct experience performing NGS library prep for Illumina platforms
- Familiarity with ATAC-seq, RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, Methyl-Seq, and/or 10X Single-cell
- Familiarity with Illumina instrumentation, liquid handlers, and Kingfisher automation
- Deep theoretical and applied knowledge of core molecular biology tenets
- Demonstrated experience in developing, troubleshooting, and optimizing assays/protocols
- Experience in an industrial, drug-development environment preferred
- Immunology-related experience preferred
