Job Description

About the Role:

In this Associate Director level role, you will help transform scientific evidence into clear, impactful medical communications that support assigned development assets and programs. You will play a key role in ensuring scientific information is communicated accurately, compliantly, and in ways that are meaningful to healthcare professionals. Your work will contribute to the development of scientific content, educational resources, and congress-related materials that support broader medical strategies and evidence-generation efforts. You will be part of a global, collaborative environment that works across Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, and other partner functions to deliver consistent and effective scientific communications. You will also help advance innovative ways of working by applying digital channels and artificial intelligence-enabled tools that improve efficiency, content quality, and stakeholder engagement.

How You Will Contribute:

  • Develop and execute medical communication plans that align with medical strategy, evidence-generation activities, and healthcare professional engagement objectives.
  • Lead scientific content creation by developing and maintaining core communication resources, slide decks, frequently asked questions, and other evidence-based materials.
  • Plan and deliver congress activities by supporting scientific booth content, symposia materials, educational initiatives, and insight collection efforts.
  • Collaborate across cross-functional teams to align priorities, timelines, and communication plans with global, regional, and local stakeholders.
  • Conduct medical content reviews by partnering with Legal and Regulatory colleagues to support accurate, balanced, and compliant communications.
  • Coordinate content development workflows by preparing source materials, enabling content reuse, and anticipating future content needs.
  • Apply digital and AI-enabled technologies to improve planning, content development, visualization, review processes, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Monitor execution and performance by tracking key measures, managing budgets and vendors, identifying risks, and incorporating insights into ongoing plans.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a life science or healthcare discipline.
  • Minimum of 6 to 10 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry or a closely related field, depending on degree level.
  • At least 3 years of experience in medical communications or a related Medical Affairs function within a global matrix environment.
  • Strong knowledge of drug development, clinical data interpretation, and medical strategy.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and legal requirements related to medical communications and medical review processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Experience making decisions within scope, identifying risks, developing solutions, and escalating issues when appropriate.
  • Experience applying artificial intelligence-enabled tools and digital technologies within scientific communications.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex scientific information clearly.
