About this job

POSITION SUMMARY
Lead the Aircraft business at the Bellwood facility with end-to-end accountability for business performance, customer commitments, specialized manufacturing execution, and team capability. The Aircraft Business Manager integrates commercial, contractual, operational, quality, engineering, and people priorities to deliver safe, compliant, high-quality products while achieving financial, delivery, and growth objectives. The role serves as the principal business and customer interface for the Aircraft product portfolio and ensures the organization is prepared to meet aerospace-specific requirements and audits.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

·     Own the Aircraft business plan and operating performance, including revenue, margin, cost, inventory, capital priorities, forecast accuracy, and corrective actions needed to achieve commitments.

·     Lead customer relationships for assigned aerospace accounts, including demand and delivery reviews, issue escalation, recovery plans, technical and commercial coordination, and sustained customer confidence.

·     Manage pricing, quotations, contracts, annual customer requirements, and commercial changes in partnership with Sales, Finance, Legal, Engineering, Quality, Supply Management, and Operations.

·     Translate customer demand, contracts, forecasts, and program requirements into aligned capacity, staffing, material, quality, and production plans.

·     Provide leadership for specialized Aircraft manufacturing processes and ensure performance against safety, quality, cost, delivery, productivity, and teamwork expectations.

·     Ensure compliance with applicable aerospace quality-system, customer, regulatory, traceability, documentation, and audit requirements; partner with Quality to maintain audit readiness and close findings.

·     Champion product and process risk management, change control, root-cause problem solving, corrective action, and continuous improvement across the Aircraft value stream.

·     Coordinate engineering, quality, operations, materials, maintenance, and supply-chain resources to resolve constraints, protect customer schedules, and support new or changing business requirements.

·     Develop the Aircraft organization through clear goals, coaching, cross-training, succession planning, knowledge transfer, recognition, and accountability.

·     Build an engaged, flexible workforce capable of supporting changing business needs while maintaining positive employee relations and consistent application of company policies.

·     Lead safety performance for the Aircraft area, including hazard identification, incident response, corrective actions, machine-safeguarding follow-up, and employee involvement in risk reduction.

·     Prepare and communicate regular business reviews, performance metrics, risks, opportunities, and action plans to plant and business leadership.

·     Represent the Aircraft business in plant strategy, resource planning, capital planning, talent reviews, customer visits, and cross-functional operating reviews.

·     Protect business continuity by documenting critical processes, maintaining appropriate backup coverage, and transferring specialized product, customer, contract, and systems knowledge.

LEADERSHIP SCOPE

·     Lead directly and through cross-functional influence in a matrixed manufacturing environment.

·     Establish priorities and decision rights across operations, engineering, quality, materials, customer service, finance, maintenance, and support functions.

·     Create a culture of ownership, respect, collaboration, disciplined execution, and continuous learning.

·     Act as the escalation point for significant customer, delivery, quality, safety, commercial, or business-performance concerns.

PERFORMANCE OUTCOMES

·     Safe operations and effective closure of identified risks.

·     Conformance to aerospace, customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements.

·     On-time delivery, stable production execution, and effective recovery from disruption.

·     Achievement of revenue, margin, cost, inventory, productivity, and cash objectives.

·     Accurate quotations, contracts, pricing, forecasts, and annual customer requirements.

·     Strong customer relationships and timely resolution of escalated issues.

·     Capable talent pipelines, documented knowledge, cross-trained resources, and succession coverage.
