Workplace: On-Site 5 days per week
Location: Berkeley, CA
Salary: $130-160k

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to drive electrical design and component-level cost optimization across battery, energy storage, and industrial products. This role will turn the electrical architecture into detailed component, interface, and verification requirements, carry out cost-reduction work from analysis through validation, and work closely with distributed engineering teams.

Responsibilities
    • Carry out electrical design work within the defined architecture, owning assigned subsystems and component areas.
    • Develop component, interface, and verification requirements from system and architecture requirements.
    • Identify, evaluate, and recommend lower-cost alternatives for switches, sensors, and electrical isolation components, supported by technical and cost analysis.
    • Analyze impacts to PCBA interfaces, controls, diagnostics, harnesses, BOMs, and system performance, and flag risks to engineering leadership.
    • Prepare and present design work in design reviews, and take part in peer reviews.
    • Work directly with mechanical, systems, manufacturing, supply-chain, and validation engineers to resolve technical issues.
    • Work with nearshore engineering teams on deliverables, and help make sure documentation is ready for release.

Required Qualifications
    • 5+ years of electrical or electromechanical product-development experience. Battery, energy storage, industrial equipment, or automotive experience preferred.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
    • Hands-on experience with sensors, harness interfaces, BOM optimization, and component selection. Exposure to electrical architecture development is a plus.
    • Ability to work independently on complex technical problems and support or mentor junior engineers.
    • Strong working knowledge of sensors, switches, heaters, pumps, DC/DC converters, power distribution, and harness interfaces.

Salary Range
    • $130,000 - 160,000
    • The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience
