About this job

Perplexity is looking for a Social Media Manager to expand how Perplexity shows up online. You'll run the channels day to day, writing posts, setting strategy, scaling our accounts, and writing for leadership and the team, working closely with our Communications and marketing team, product managers, and engineers.

This is a hands-on role. You'll write most of what goes out yourself. Excellent judgement and high taste are required. The role is mostly Instagram with some community initiatives like Reddit, and interacting with our developer audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Run social channels day to day. Maintain our brand and product accounts across all channels. This includes writing social copy, planning content, and managing engagement.

  • Set the social strategy. Decide and execute how we grow each account, what we post where, and how we measure it.

  • Scale our team accounts. Help employees post in our voice and grow our presence across platforms.

  • Build and moderate community. Engage on Reddit and in developer communities, and represent Perplexity where our users already are.

  • Adapt and ship fast. Partner with Comms and marketing, PM’s, founders, and engineers in a fast-paced launch environment.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years running social for a brand, ideally tech and AI.

  • You can write. Send us posts you wrote that performed and tell us why they worked.

  • Native fluency on Instagram and LinkedIn, with a track record of growing an account.

  • Demonstrated experience being entrusted with a brand voice

  • You know how to write for different audiences and platforms, and adjust the voice for each.

  • Comfortable in a fast launch cycle where the plan changes often

Nice to have

  • You've run or moderated a developer or technical community.

  • You've written on behalf of leadership or other voices.

  • You follow AI closely and have opinions on how the best companies show up online.
