What Is the Opportunity?

Travelers is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team as we grow and transform our technology landscape. In this role, you will lead the design and engineering of our producer management platform, integrate AI-driven capabilities into the platform, and help shape how the broader team adopts and applies AI in its day-to-day work.

What Will You Do?

You'll own the engineering and evolution of Travelers' producer management platform — and help bring AI into both the product and the team.

Platform Design & Engineering

    • Lead design and engineering for the producer management platform, covering producer data, licensing, appointments, and onboarding.
    • Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into clear designs and priorities.
    • Own producer data quality and integrations, including identity matching and reconciliation across consuming systems.
  • AI Capabilities
    • Build AI and agentic AI capabilities into the platform, including assistants and workflow automation.
    • Deploy AI features to production on AWS with retrieval, orchestration, evaluation, and guardrails — ensuring accurate, reliable results.
    • Extend AI assistants toward real-time data and automation of agency operations workflows.
  • AI in How We Build
    • Apply AI and agentic AI tools across design, coding, testing, and operations.
    • Champion team adoption of AI tools — share what works, and what doesn't.
  • Modernization
    • Drive modernization of legacy systems toward cloud-native services, APIs, and event-driven architecture.
    • Work alongside the mainframe producer system (IMS/DB2/COBOL) to design interfaces and data flows that connect it to modern services.
    • Sequence changes to keep downstream consumers of producer data running throughout.
  • Standards & Quality
    • Define engineering standards through design reviews, testing, and secure development practices.
    • Strengthen test automation and release processes.
  • Leadership & Collaboration
    • Serve as the day-to-day technical lead: drive design decisions, review technical work, and lead deep dives into data, integration, and production issues.
    • Influence direction across teams without direct authority — lead through expertise and trust.
    • Partner with the Product Owner, Scrum Master, and business stakeholders on priorities and delivery.
    • Translate technical status and risk into clear, accessible language for non-technical audiences.
    • Mentor engineers and invest in growing the team.
