About this job

The Product Knowledge Team builds the foundation that powers Amazon's shopping experiences worldwide. We develop standardized, semantically rich product knowledge — increasingly powered by AI/ML-driven automation and classification — that drives customer discovery, selling partner success, and internal data enrichment across the world's largest ecommerce catalog. As part of the broader Amazon Selection and Catalog Systems (ASCS) organization, our vision is to (1) unblock ingestion at scale so external and complex selection enters the catalog without funnel loss, (2) ensure accurate product identity and categorization through the ingestion and fulfillment pipelines — leveraging AI/ML models to automate classification and improve accuracy at scale, and (3) operate as the reliable knowledge partner for Retail Stores operations across the categorization and fulfillment path.

Key job responsibilities

Own end-to-end program delivery for selection ingestion and categorization initiatives — from strategy definition and requirements gathering through technical design, implementation, launch, and post-launch measurement of business impact, including programs that leverage AI/ML to automate and scale product knowledge operations

Drive cross-functional collaboration between engineering, ontology, applied science, fulfillment, and business teams across the ingestion stack — aligning priorities, resolving dependencies, and ensuring teams deliver cohesively against shared milestones

Provide regular updates to senior leadership on program status, risks, and impact — including written narratives, business reviews, and executive briefings that connect technical progress to business outcomes

Influence product roadmaps using data-driven frameworks — leveraging catalog health metrics, ingestion funnel data, categorization accuracy signals, and AI/ML model performance insights to prioritize the highest-impact initiatives

Identify and remove blockers to help teams move quickly — proactively surfacing risks, escalating cross-team dependencies, and driving resolution so programs stay on track

Improve how we track goals, status, and business metrics — building mechanisms, dashboards, and reporting cadences that give the team and leadership clear visibility into progress, outcomes, and AI model effectiveness

Mentor peers and evangelize product knowledge and categorization solutions across Amazon — sharing best practices, driving adoption of scalable approaches, and raising the bar on program management within the organization
