As a Staff Software Engineer on the Validation Foundations and Acceleration team within the Autonomous Vehicle (AV) organization, you will play a key role in leading and developing complex behavior validation products such as the Behavior Validation Scorecard. This role combines strong product-facing responsibilities with technical expertise to ensure that validation tools meet the needs of engineering, safety, and product stakeholders.

You will build strong relationships with partner teams—including Embodied AI (EAI), safety, and product management—to align priorities and deliver impactful improvements. You will leverage data-driven approaches, such as Pareto analysis, to prioritize enhancements and implement solutions. Additionally, you will contribute hands-on technical work, including implementing solutions that connect the data pipeline to the UI seamlessly.

About the Organization

The Autonomous Vehicle (AV) organization is dedicated to advancing the development of autonomous vehicles through cutting-edge simulation technologies and robust validation processes. The Behavior Validation team focuses on enabling software launches and continuous release decisions through data-driven verification and validation strategies. Our collaborative environment fosters innovation and excellence, allowing us to push the boundaries of what is possible in AV testing.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with partner teams (EAI, safety, product) to align priorities and requirements.

  • Use Pareto analysis and other prioritization techniques to identify and implement improvements for validation dashboards products.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define roadmaps and success metrics for behavior validation tools.

  • Lead and implement technical improvements using Python and related technologies to accelerate feature development.

  • Ensure that validation products are scalable, reliable, and aligned with AV launch and release decision processes.

Your Skills & Abilities

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.

  • 6+ years of experience in systems engineering, software product development, or technical program management.

  • Strong ability to bridge technical and product domains, translating stakeholder needs into actionable solutions.

  • Proficiency in Python for prototyping and data analysis.

  • Experience with developing internal customer facing front end dashboards

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work across diverse teams.

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge

  • Experience managing complex validation or analytics products in safety-critical domains.

  • Familiarity with autonomous vehicle development, ADAS systems, or robotics.

  • Strong background in data visualization and reporting tools for communicating priorities and progress.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional alignment and deliver impactful product improvements.

  • Experience with simulation environments and validation frameworks.
