About this job

Welcome to Holly Springs, North Carolina— home to Roche/Genentech's largest-ever investment: a $2B greenfield start-up where next-generation technology, high-performing teams, and Operational Excellence converge to create the global standard for high-volume, highly-efficient Drug Product manufacturing.

The facility's core is defined by innovation—leveraging advanced automation, robotics, digital tools, real-time data analytics, and simple, streamlined processes to produce the highest quality medicines. This plant meets today’s demand for CVRM (Cardiovascular, Renal, and Metabolism) medicines and is scalable to grow with the portfolio, which focuses on next-generation metabolic medicines specifically targeting the global obesity epidemic and Type 2 diabetes. This is a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with a high level of accountability, targeted for commercial launch in 2028.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Supply Planning Lead to manage and inspire a high-performing supply planning team, driving site operational planning, inventory optimization, and alignment with global business objectives at our Holly Springs site. In this role, you will lead the site supply planning organization, guide the local Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) rhythm, and serve as a key people leader linking commercial demand, site execution, and global supply chain strategies.

Operating in a rapidly changing site start-up environment, you will manage, coach, and empower your team to translate corporate business policies into site-level operations across two distinct phases: an initial Start-up Phase (building team capabilities, processes, frameworks, and master data) followed by the Routine Operations Phase (ongoing leadership, execution, optimization, and talent development).

What You'll Do

Phase 1: Start-up (Process & Capability Building)

  • Team Capability & S&OP Framework: Recruit, onboard, and develop the site supply planning team; establish and standardize the site S&OP/IBP process to align site capacity with long-term commercial demand forecasts.
  • Leadership & Pre-S&OP Facilitation: Direct and facilitate the site Pre-Supply Planning Meeting, coaching team members to evaluate rough-cut capacity planning (RCCP), identify capacity bottlenecks, and present dynamic resolution options.
  • Define Metrics & Performance: Define and standardize Supply Chain KPIs, including Schedule Attainment, Plan Adherence, OTIF (On-Time In-Full), Inventory Turn/Health, and Supply Plan Accuracy.
  • People Management & Customer Service: Lead and direct the batch disposition and customer service team to ensure transparent inventory availability, manage risk-of-supply communications, and resolve order fulfillment escalations.
  • Data Integrity: Oversee supply planning Master Data process development, standardization, and governance in SAP (e.g., lead times, safety stock levels, lot sizes, yield rates, min/max thresholds, and planning BOMs) to ensure high planning system accuracy.
  • Inventory Optimization: Develop a process and partnership to manage finished goods and work-in-progress (WIP) inventory levels to achieve working capital targets while maintaining targeted customer service levels.

Phase 2: Routine Operations (Ongoing Execution & Management)

  • Team Leadership & Operational Service: Lead and manage a high-performing supply planning team to maintain high-caliber end-to-end supply chain execution, fostering cross-functional collaboration to ensure product availability and optimal stock levels.
  • Governance & Policy Compliance: Establish robust oversight and enforce strict adherence to organizational supply chain policies and operating guidelines across material planning, import/export, and required customs clearance for incoming/outgoing materials.
  • Operations Leadership & Monitoring: Direct daily supply chain operations and customer order processing, driving performance management across OTIF metrics while supporting team members in resolving complex supply escalations.
  • Production & Purchasing Integration: Direct the translation of the consensus demand plan into actionable master production schedules (MPS), collaborating closely with site Production Schedulers and Purchasing teams to manage component availability and shop-floor constraints.
  • Inventory & Bottleneck Mitigation: Proactively manage inventory levels to prevent write-offs from expiry, mitigate supply bottlenecks in coordination with Product Managers, and drive the local S&OP process.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and execute process improvement initiatives to streamline operations, lower costs, and secure stakeholder alignment across internal workflows and vendor networks.
  • Cross-Functional & Global Collaboration: Partner across the site and with a global/regional supply chain network to resolve complex operational challenges effectively.
  • People Leadership & Resource Management: Directly manage, mentor, and evaluate supply planning staff, overseeing performance reviews, resource allocation, and department operating budgets while driving overall planning KPIs.
  • Other duties as assigned

Key Skills, Abilities, and Competencies

  • People Leadership & Talent Management: Proven ability to recruit, lead, coach, and retain talent, fostering technical capabilities, building organizational resilience, and cultivating an inclusive, high-engagement team culture.

Who You Are

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree or MBA preferred).
  • Experience: 10+ years of progressive supply planning, production scheduling, or supply chain experience within a manufacturing or distribution environment, including 3+ years of direct people management and team leadership experience.

  • Core Competencies:
    • Exceptional facilitation and conflict-resolution skills in cross-functional matrix environments.
    • Deep understanding of MRP II principles, capacity requirements planning (CRP), and inventory theory.
    • Strong executive presentation skills with the ability to influence decision-making at all levels.

Other Job Requirements

  • Location: Onsite presence expected during traditional daytime working hours (Monday through Friday) across both facility setup and steady-state phases.
