About this job

Do you want to secure Amazon's most customer-centric experiences? As a Systems Development Engineer on the Detection Engineering team, you'll build, test, and deploy technology and security solutions that are integral to how Amazon's Customer Logistics Associates worldwide interact with customers every day.

Your solutions will handle billions of signals and petabytes of data in hybrid environments while maintaining Amazon's high security standards. You'll collaborate with engineers across Amazon to continuously raise the security bar and enable Customer Logistics to introduce innovative experiences.

You'll play a critical role in every interaction where Customer Logistics Security operations personnel access and handle customer data. This includes securing how associates view, how data moves across the network, and how we protect customer trust at every touchpoint.

Key job responsibilities

You will own the design, implementation, and operation of systems and infrastructure that secure Customer Logistics systems. You will dive deep into complex technical problems—debugging issues across operating systems, networking layers, and cloud services—and deliver solutions that are both secure and reliable at scale.

You will define and execute on technical solutions that deliver value to our customers quickly and sustainably. You will contribute to technical planning, identify opportunities to improve our systems, and drive projects from design through deployment. You will partner with other engineers, data professionals, and product and program teams to build cohesive solutions that secure Customer Logistics environments.

A day in the life

You will spend your time writing code, building automation, and operating the systems that keep Customer Logistics secure. You will troubleshoot production issues, conduct code reviews, and contribute to architectural decisions. On a regular basis, you will collaborate with your team to tackle the biggest technical challenges and participate in operational reviews to ensure our systems meet their availability and security goals.
