The ideal candidate is a strong customer-facing communicator with a high degree of technical acumen in space EO/IR/Radar payloads and sensemaking at the edge supporting the Aerospace, Defense and Intelligence Community. - Customer Engagement & Capture: Cultivate trusted relationships with government stakeholders, Program Acquisition Executives Offices (PAEs), and IC customers to discern needs and proactively shape future acquisitions
- Market Expansion: Spearhead the transition and expansion of Space Payloads from the IC into the broader DoW and assess expansion into commercial and international markets
- Pipeline & Proposal Management: Support long-range planning, pipeline development, and backlog generation. Guide proposal strategies and color team reviews to ensure alignment with executive leadership for profitable, sustainable growth
- Product Shaping: Partner with business and engineering leads to identify and shape new hardware and software offerings by analyzing geopolitical sentiment, evolving customer priorities, and emerging technology advancements
- Strategic Leadership: Leverage soft power of influence and cross-functional leadership to drive business development objectives across a highly matrixed environment
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Optical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline
- 12+ years of strategic business development experience in the Space and Intelligence sectors, with a proven track record of scaling large business units and managing capture strategies
- US Citizen with an active Top Secret/SCI clearance
- Exceptional communication skills with a proven mastery of influencing others with demonstrated pipeline growth, long-range planning experience, and navigating USG Opportunity Management Systems (SAM.gov, ARC, NSTXL SpEC)
Desired Qualifications:
- Proficiency in navigating CRM, pipeline, and ERP tools including Salesforce, GovWin, CostPoint, Unanet, and SAP.
- Demonstrated engineering background with foundational knowledge in space optical sensing and agile management tools to effectively communicate with engineering teams, evaluate architectures, and engage all customers.
- US Citizen with active Top Secret/SCI clearance with Polygraph preferred.
- Master’s degree preferred
