The Director of Organizational Change Management (OCM) will lead the enterprise change strategy and execution for a large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformation supporting North American Pharmaceutical Distribution and Corporate Finance. This leader will oversee a team of change management professionals, establish priorities, allocate resources, and drive successful transformation outcomes.

Reporting to the VP, Modernization Office, with a dotted-line relationship to SAP S/4HANA Program Leadership, the Director will serve as the senior change advisor to executive sponsors, business leaders, and the program team. This highly visible role is responsible for ensuring employees and leaders are prepared, equipped, and committed to adopting new processes, technologies, organizational structures, and ways of working enabled by the transformation.

The Director will establish and lead an integrated change management strategy encompassing stakeholder engagement, executive sponsorship, change impact assessments, communications, organizational readiness, training, adoption, and sustainment, leveraging an AI-first approach where appropriate. Success in this role requires the ability to translate a highly technical transformation into a compelling business narrative that drives engagement, alignment, and lasting adoption across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Change Leadership

  • Develop and execute the overall OCM strategy aligned with program objectives, business outcomes, and deployment plans.
  • Serve as the senior advisor to executive sponsors, program leadership, and key stakeholders.
  • Establish OCM governance, methodologies, standards, metrics, and success measures.
  • Integrate change activities across all program phases, from design through deployment and sustainment.
  • Identify organizational risks and adoption barriers and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Build and communicate a clear case for change that connects business objectives to employee impact.

Stakeholder Engagement & Executive Sponsorship

  • Lead stakeholder engagement strategies across executive, functional, and frontline audiences.
  • Strengthen executive sponsorship effectiveness, leadership alignment, and accountability.
  • Establish and manage a network of change champions and business change leaders.
  • Lead executive workshops, leadership forums, and stakeholder interventions.
  • Develop strategies to address resistance and accelerate adoption.

Change Impact, Readiness & Adoption

  • Lead enterprise-wide change impact assessments across processes, roles, systems, controls, and organizational structures.
  • Establish organizational readiness frameworks, assessments, dashboards, and executive reporting.
  • Define adoption strategies, readiness measures, behavioral outcomes, and change KPIs.
  • Monitor adoption and business readiness, identifying and addressing post-deployment gaps.
  • Implement sustainment strategies to reinforce new behaviors and prevent regression to legacy ways of working.

Communications, Training & Capability Building

  • Develop and oversee an integrated communications and engagement strategy tied to the broader transformation vision.
  • Partner with Corporate Communications and business leaders on executive messaging, town halls, toolkits, and employee communications.
  • Provide strategic leadership for learning and training programs, ensuring employees can successfully operate in the future-state environment.
  • Measure training effectiveness, proficiency, confidence, and long-term adoption outcomes.

Program Integration & Governance

  • Serve as a key member of the SAP S/4HANA Program Leadership Team.
  • Partner closely with Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, Order-to-Cash, Technology, Master Data, Security, and other workstreams.
  • Coordinate OCM activities with solution design, testing, deployment, cutover, stabilization, and other critical milestones.
  • Manage vendors, consultants, budgets, and resources while providing regular readiness and adoption reporting to executive governance forums.

People Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of change management professionals.
  • Drive workforce planning, hiring, development, performance management, succession planning, and team capability building.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Typically 12+ years of professional experience and 4+ years of people leadership experience.

Critical Skills & Experience

  • 12+ years of progressive experience in organizational change management, business transformation, organizational effectiveness, management consulting, or related disciplines.
  • 4+ years leading change management efforts for complex, enterprise-scale transformations.
  • Experience leading ERP or enterprise technology transformations; SAP S/4HANA experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success leading teams, influencing executive stakeholders, and driving adoption in highly matrixed organizations.
  • Experience working within formal transformation governance structures and managing external partners and consultants.
  • Deep expertise across stakeholder engagement, organizational readiness, communications, training, adoption, and sustainment.
  • Strong executive communication, facilitation, and influencing skills with the ability to simplify complex transformation initiatives into clear business outcomes.
  • Preferred: Advanced degree, Prosci/CCMP certification, SAP S/4HANA transformation experience, multi-wave deployment experience, and familiarity with AI-enabled change, adoption, and learning platforms.
