Our U.S. Inclusion & Belonging (I&B) team is passionate, collaborative, and driven by a deep commitment to belonging and social impact. We lead with empathy, challenge the status quo, and work across the enterprise to embed I&B into the fabric of our culture and business. If you’re looking to lead transformative change at scale and help shape the future of inclusion in the healthcare industry, we’d love to meet you.

The Opportunity

We are hiring an Inclusion & Belonging Lead for Genentech/US Pharma who will work in close partnership with the Head of I&B US to advance and implement Roche’s enterprise-wide Inclusion & Belonging strategy.

The Lead will be responsible for:

  • Leading the execution of Roche's I&B strategy within their respective organization (GNE/Pharma or Diagnostics) while aligning with enterprise goals.
  • Managing a dedicated team, including I&B Engagement Experts and DNA/Impact Network Leads, and overseeing performance, coaching, and development
  • Partnering with senior executives (e.g., the Genentech Executive Committee or US Diagnostics Committee) to embed I&B into strategy, culture, and operations.
  • Serving as a thought leader and subject matter expert on I&B across the business, bringing strategic insight and practical solutions to complex cultural challenges.
  • Building and maintaining strong cross-functional partnerships (e.g., P&C, Legal, Site Services, Informatics) to integrate inclusion into people systems, policies, and decision-making.
  • Supporting legal compliance by embedding I&B into people practices in alignment with applicable federal and state laws.
  • Overseeing alignment of I&B activities across chapters and employee networks (DNA and Impact Networks).
  • Representing Roche in external forums, managing local community partnerships, and contributing to the company’s I&B brand and visibility.
  • Contributing to measurement and accountability through development and tracking of metrics and impact indicators.
  • Enabling a network of leaders and champions who can amplify the I&B vision and inspire organizational change.

Who You Are

You are a strategic and people-centered leader with the experience and mindset to embed Inclusion & Belonging into the fabric of a dynamic organization. You bring a deep understanding of the systemic nature of inclusion work, strong people management capabilities, and the influence to drive meaningful change across functions and levels.

You bring:

  • A Bachelor’s degree (required).
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in Inclusion & Belonging or related fields.
  • Industry experience in pharma, biotech, diagnostics, or a related healthcare sector.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated people leadership, with experience managing and developing diverse teams.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and collaborate effectively in a highly matrixed, complex organization.
  • Experience embedding I&B into people systems, policies, and operations.
  • A track record of delivering enterprise-wide initiatives and managing cross-functional projects.
  • Knowledge of current I&B best practices, U.S. legal requirements (state and federal), and social and cultural trends.
  • Experience navigating sociopolitical dynamics and facilitating inclusive dialogue in times of tension or change.
  • High emotional intelligence and the ability to foster psychological safety, trust, and belonging.
  • Strong communication, coaching, and storytelling skills to engage a wide range of audiences.
