About this job

UTA Advisory seeks a Director, Growth Strategy to help advertising, media and technology companies decide where to focus and how to win in their market.

AI, commerce media, streaming, social and creators are reshaping marketing faster than most companies can adjust. Buyers have more choices, attention is harder to earn, and the playbooks that worked three years ago don't anymore. UTA Advisory helps clients understand what is changing, decide where to compete, earn consideration with the buyers who matter, and turn it into revenue.

As a Director, Growth Strategy, you sit at the center of that work. You lead engagements from market research to the recommendation, and on into the narrative, sales enablement and activation into market. You work alongside senior client executives, our Principals and VPs, and a team of consultants and analysts. And you watch the work pay off: the industry sees a client differently, pipeline gets built, and the company finds new opportunities in market.

This is a role for someone who wants to learn, work hard, be at the epicenter of the industry, and become an expert in where it is headed.

The ideal candidate brings experience driving growth in marketing, sales, or consulting and understands what it takes to earn buyer consideration and generate revenue. You combine strategic analysis with creative storytelling, translating market insights and business cases into messaging and tools that sales teams can use. You are a trusted advisor to clients, comfortable shaping decisions and offering a candid perspective. A collaborative leader, you set clear direction, elevate those around you, and share credit. You measure success by client results and bring an informed point of view on the forces shaping media, advertising, technology, and culture.

The salary range for this role is $140,000 - $150,000, commensurate with experience and skills.

What You Will Do

You will take clients from insight, to a decision, to the market, and stay with them long enough to see what it delivers.

Get to the insight

  • Lead discovery: stakeholder interviews, customer and market interviews, and competitive and market analysis

  • Turn research into a clear point of view on where the client is winning, where they are losing, and why

  • Define the client's role in its market: who it serves, what it does best, and where it can win

Drive the decision

  • Frame the choices clients face, including which segments, products, partners and markets to prioritize, and build the business case behind each

  • Present and defend recommendations to senior executives, adjust in real time to what you hear, and get the client to a decision

  • Guide clients through the critical business decisions that shape their growth

Bring it to market

  • Turn decisions into the positioning, narrative and messaging that set the client apart

  • Build what sales and marketing teams need to use it: pitch materials, proof points, enablement, pricing and packaging

  • Plan activation that puts the story in front of the right buyers, drawing on UTA's events, talent, culture and network

  • Track what happens next, including pipeline, deals, partnerships and market perception, and use it to sharpen the work

Lead the engagement and the team

  • Serve as day-to-day lead and main point of contact for client teams, in partnership with the engagement lead

  • Own workplans, timelines and the quality of every deliverable across multiple engagements at once

  • Direct and develop consultants and analysts, review their work, and help them grow

Grow the business

  • Spot where clients need more help and bring in the right UTA Advisory capabilities

  • Partner with leadership on new business, including pitches, proposals and scoping

  • Build your network and our presence in market through events, industry groups and published point of view

What You Will Need

  • 5 to 7+ years in marketing, sales, consulting, agency, media or technology, with real time spent in client-facing roles

  • A track record of recognizing growth opportunities and acting on them

  • Strength in both analysis and storytelling: you can build the model, and you can write the narrative

  • Fluency in media, advertising, adtech and technology, including how these companies sell and how their buyers buy

  • Experience leading client relationships and managing or mentoring junior team members

  • Excellent writing and presentation skills, and comfort in front of senior executives

  • Advanced in all relevant tools, including AI, as part of how you work

  • MBA welcome, not required

What You Will Get

  • The unique and exciting opportunity to work at one of a leading global entertainment companies

  • Access to the tools, leadership, and resources you will need to create and drive a center of excellence

  • The opportunity to do the best work of your career

  • Work in an inclusive and diverse company culture

  • Competitive programs to support your well-being

  • Experience working in a collaborative environment with room to grow
