The Director of Materials is responsible for developing and executing integrated planning and supply chain strategies that support business growth, operational excellence, and customer commitments. This role will manage the planning and logistics organizations, lead and develop a high-performing supply chain team, and serve as a key planning partner to the Site Leader, Senior Director of Operations. The successful candidate will drive an effective SIOP process that translates business and financial objectives into aligned demand, supply, capacity, inventory, and execution of plans to enable predictable execution and scalable growth.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop production and materials planning, procurement, commodity management, logistics, shipping, receiving, and warehouse teams.
  • Own and continuously improve the site SIOP process, integrating demand, supply, capacity, inventory, and operational plans in support of site business objectives.
  • Translate customer demand, financial targets, and business priorities into executable production, material, and logistics plans.
  • Develop and execute supply chain strategies that improve material readiness, supplier performance, and operational execution.
  • Support the Site Leader, Senior Director of Operations, by providing integrated plans, forecasts, scenarios, performance insights, and risk visibility to inform site business and operating decisions.
  • Drive process excellence through standard work, performance metrics, reporting, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop sourcing, commodity, and supplier strategies to optimize cost, quality, delivery, and risk.
  • Manage supplier relationships, negotiations, and performance.
  • Lead supply chain support for REACH and RoHS compliance, including supplier engagement, collection and maintenance of material and supplier declarations, and visibility to compliance gaps and risks in partnership with Quality and Engineering.
  • Incorporate REACH and RoHS requirements into supplier, material, and change-management processes to support product compliance and customer flow-down requirements.
  • Optimize inventory, material availability, logistics flow, and working capital to support customer commitments and site financial objectives.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain, planning, logistics, shortage, and capacity risks, escalating tradeoffs and recommended actions as appropriate.
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Program Management, Quality, and Finance to align planning assumptions and improve execution.
  • Ensure effective use of SAP and business systems to support planning, logistics, decision-making, and operational performance.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, government regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • Develop organizational capability through coaching, training, and succession planning.
  • Serve as the Small Business Plan Officer, accountable for overall program governance and coordination, including compliance, reporting, audit readiness, performance monitoring, and cross-functional alignment, while partnering with Supply Chain, Contracts, and site procurement teams on execution.

Job Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, SIOP, production or materials planning, procurement, logistics, or manufacturing operations.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Proven success leading SIOP, demand and supply planning, inventory optimization, materials planning, logistics, strategic sourcing, supplier management, and supply chain performance improvement.
  • Experience developing integrated planning and supply chain strategies, driving process improvements, and implementing standardized operating practices.
  • Strong understanding of ERP systems (SAP preferred), forecasting, production and materials planning, inventory management, logistics, and supply chain analytics.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide senior operations leadership with planning, analysis, and cross-functional coordination across Operations, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Program Management.
