About this job

About 9fin

9fin is the AI platform powering global debt markets — the world’s largest asset class at over $145 trillion.

Debt markets are vast, global, and mission-critical, yet still run on fragmented data, PDFs, and manual workflows. 9fin replaces this broken infrastructure with a single platform that centralises proprietary credit data, deep analysis, and high-value workflows across global markets.

Today, 9fin powers teams at 300+ blue-chip institutions worldwide, including global banks, asset managers, private equity firms, law firms, and advisors. The business is scaling at exceptional speed, with rapid expansion in the US and best-in-class retention driven by deep workflow adoption.

We’re at a defining inflection point. With proven product-market fit and strong, global market pull, 9fin is accelerating toward becoming the category-defining platform for debt markets worldwide.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Head of Strategic Accounts, US to lead the top tier of our commercial organization — the largest, most complex accounts driving 9fin’s next phase of growth. Strategics is our top segment: a targeted book of our largest ARR accounts across the global banks, top-tier law firms, multi-strategy hedge funds, asset managers, and private equity firms who set the standard for how credit intelligence is bought and used.

You’ll build and lead a team of ~5–6 senior relationship managers in New York, each owning a small portfolio of strategic accounts in a hybrid Account Management and Enterprise Sales role. You’ll partner closely with our Head of Strategic Accounts, EMEA to run a globally coordinated segment and work with senior Customer Success partners at the account level.

This is a builder role for a leader who has personally carried a large number, sold enterprise-scale deals into financial services, and knows how to raise the bar on rigor, presence, and multi-year deal execution.

This role requires 3 days in our NYC office.

What you’ll work on

Every day is different, but here’s an example of the kind of things you’ll work on:

  • Lead the US Strategics team to consistent, forecastable delivery quarter over quarter across a book of $13M+ ARR accounts.

  • Coach and manage a team of ~5–6 Strategic Account Managers covering our most important banks, asset managers, hedge funds, private equity firms, and law firms in the US.

  • Drive multi-year deal execution, lock in early renewals, and structure enterprise agreements that grow durably over time.

  • Coach the team through complex commercial motions — MSAs, procurement, legal review, and executive alignment at the MD, Partner, PM, Head of Desk, and C-suite level.

  • Run weekly segment reviews focused on deals moved, deals at risk, pipeline health, and account-level path-to-close plans.

  • Set the operating cadence for the segment. Enforce our 3-day office minimum, and drive territory planning, account mapping, and a shared deal methodology across the team.

  • Partner with the EMEA Head of Strategic Accounts to build geographic reciprocity, with US AMs backing up EMEA coverage on global accounts, and vice versa.

  • Work in a “two-in-the-box” model with senior CSMs (product and usage) and Sales Engineering (pre-sales), and partner across Enablement, Rev Ops, Marketing, and Product to remove barriers to growth.

  • Be the senior voice of our strategic clients into Product and Engineering — translating segment-level themes across credit, leveraged finance, restructuring, distressed, and private credit into a clear point of view on the roadmap.

  • Represent 9fin externally with the C-suite — at client offsites, executive briefings, industry conferences, and roundtables — and become a recognised name in US debt markets.

  • Build the operating system for the Strategics segment — deal reviews, path-to-close proposals, territory planning, and account planning frameworks that scale.

About You

This role will be a great fit if you:

  • Have 12+ years of enterprise B2B sales experience, including 4+ years leading strategic or enterprise sales teams selling into financial services (banks, asset managers, hedge funds, PE firms), law firms, or a mix.

  • Have personally carried and consistently exceeded a large individual quota on multi-million-dollar strategic accounts, and can point to specific accounts you’ve grown from $X to $Y and explain exactly how.

  • Bring a consultative approach to selling and want to become a strategic partner to our clients

  • Have deep familiarity with capital markets, credit, or the debt markets ecosystem across credit, leveraged finance, restructuring, distressed, and private credit — you can hold your own with a restructuring lawyer, a leveraged finance banker, or a credit PM.

  • Have led teams through multi-year deal execution and understand what it takes to secure meaningful year-over-year uplifts, early renewals, and complex enterprise agreements.

  • Can coach reps through complex procurement, MSA negotiation, legal review, and executive alignment at the MD, Partner, PM, Head of Desk, and C-suite level.

  • Bring C-suite presence and cross-organizational credibility. You show up sharp, prepared, and trusted by both your team and your customers.

  • Are a proactive coach, not a reactive manager. You share process, mentor your reps, and help them plan deals in advance rather than reacting to slipped forecasts.

  • Have run a disciplined operating cadence — weekly deal reviews, forecast rigor, territory and account planning, and a shared deal methodology across the team.

  • Are commercially sharp and operationally rigorous, and can be a credible senior voice of your team’s clients into Product and Engineering.

  • Build trust across a matrixed commercial organization and can partner effectively with Customer Success, Sales Engineering, Enablement, Rev Ops, Marketing, and Product.

  • Set a high bar and lead through presence and standards rather than fear. You drive accountability without burning your team out.

  • Thrive in ambitious, fast-moving environments where expectations are high, opportunities are abundant, and no two days look the same.
