About this job
About 9fin
9fin is the AI platform powering global debt markets — the world’s largest asset class at over $145 trillion.
Debt markets are vast, global, and mission-critical, yet still run on fragmented data, PDFs, and manual workflows. 9fin replaces this broken infrastructure with a single platform that centralises proprietary credit data, deep analysis, and high-value workflows across global markets.
Today, 9fin powers teams at 300+ blue-chip institutions worldwide, including global banks, asset managers, private equity firms, law firms, and advisors. The business is scaling at exceptional speed, with rapid expansion in the US and best-in-class retention driven by deep workflow adoption.
We’re at a defining inflection point. With proven product-market fit and strong, global market pull, 9fin is accelerating toward becoming the category-defining platform for debt markets worldwide.
About the role
As a Strategic Account Manager, you’ll own our largest accounts — the global banks, top-tier law firms, multi-strategy hedge funds, asset managers, and private equity firms. This is a rare combination of Account Management and Enterprise Sales: you’ll be the trusted senior relationship owner for the account and the commercial lead responsible for expanding 9fin into every relevant team, desk, and geography inside it.
This role requires 3 days in our NYC office.
What you’ll work on
Every day is different, but here’s an example of the kind of things you’ll work on:
Owning the end-to-end relationship and commercial success of a small portfolio of 9fin’s largest most complex accounts, including global banks, top-tier law firms, hedge funds, asset managers and PE sponsors.
Acting as the senior point of contact and trusted advisor for MDs, Partners, PMs, Heads of Desk and C-suite stakeholders — building deep, multi-threaded relationships across each organization.
Building and executing strategic account plans that map the org, identify white space, and lay out a clear path to materially growing ARR over multi-year horizons.
Driving expansion by qualifying and closing new opportunities inside your accounts, new teams, new desks, new asset classes, new geographies — running full enterprise sales cycles alongside your renewal motion.
Leading commercial negotiations on multi-year renewals, uplifts and enterprise agreements, partnering with Legal and Finance and on complex procurement and MSA processes.
Deeply understanding each client’s workflows in credit, leveraged finance, restructuring, distressed and private credit, and translating those into concrete use cases 9fin can solve.
Partnering closely with Product and Engineering to bring the voice of your clients into the roadmap — you are their most credible advocate internally.
Representing 9fin externally at client offsites, executive briefings, industry conferences and roundtables, becoming a recognised name in debt markets.
About You
This role will be a great fit if you:
Have 10+ years managing and growing strategic enterprise accounts, ideally selling data, SaaS, research or workflow platforms into global banks, buy-side firms, or law firms.
Have a proven track record of owning multi-million-dollar accounts and materially expanding them — you can point to specific accounts you’ve grown from $X to $Y and explain exactly how.
Combine the depth of a top-tier Account Manager with the commercial edge of a top-tier Enterprise Account Executive — you’re equally comfortable running a strategic QBR with an MD and closing a net-new expansion into a team that’s never used 9fin.
Have credibility with senior stakeholders in debt or credit markets, whether from selling to them, working in the industry, or both, and a genuine intellectual interest in the space.
Are commercially sharp and operationally rigorous: skilled at navigating complex procurement, legal review, executive alignment, and internal cross-functional work at scale.
